(Issued in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015)
This statement is made by Silentnight Group Limited in relation to its role in managing and operating premierinnathome.com on behalf of Premier Inn. It outlines our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking across our business operations and supply chain.
Premierinnathome.com is the official homeware website for Premier Inn bedding and beds. The site is managed and operated by Silentnight Group Limited, a UK-based manufacturer of beds and mattresses, on behalf of Premier Inn. Bedding products are supplied by Sartex Quilts & Textiles Ltd, while mattresses, beds and headboards are provided by Silentnight.
Silentnight Group maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all aspects of our operations and take our responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 seriously.
We do not engage with, or knowingly support, any organisation involved in slavery or forced labour. All labour used in our operations and those of our suppliers must be freely given, and we adhere to all relevant UK employment legislation.
Silentnight Group employs over 700 people across the UK. Our operations include the manufacture and supply of mattresses, divan bases, headboards and bedding to UK customers and businesses. Our supply chains include material and component suppliers from the UK and Europe.
We expect all suppliers we work with to share our values and commitment to preventing modern slavery. Every supplier must adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes provisions on modern slavery and human rights. Where necessary, we include contractual clauses that allow us to terminate relationships if modern slavery risks are identified.
While we consider our exposure to modern slavery to be low, we continue to review and improve our internal practices and supplier oversight. Steps taken include:
Conducting due diligence and supplier assessments
Including modern slavery clauses in supplier agreements
Promoting awareness and training for managers and staff
Providing a Whistleblowing Policy to allow employees to report concerns confidentially
Silentnight has partnered with the Slave-Free Alliance to deliver training to managers across the business. A modern slavery training module will be rolled out more broadly to further embed awareness across our teams.
We are also taking steps to ensure that all colleagues understand their rights, including displaying awareness materials in multiple languages and verifying the legal right to work for all employees and agency workers.
